timberland roll boots Baby dolphin dies after beachgoers pluck it out of the sea and pass it around for photos
After the fun of snapping selfies with the pint sized animal faded, sunbathers on an Argentine beach left the dead body of a rare baby dolphin in the hot sand.
Wildlife groups are slamming beachgoers who took the young La Plata dolphin also known as the Franciscana out of the water, petting it like a lapdog and parading it on the Santa Teresita beach for photos. The creature eventually died from dehydration, according to the Telegraph, which reported this as one of two recent incidents in which the breed was passed around on dry land.
Dubbed shy and evasive by nature by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, sitings of the La Plata dolphins are rare and limited to the shallow waters off of the coast of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists the species as vulnerable to extinction with a population of less than 30,000.
