timberland handbags Franco Sarto
Franco Sarto is a European designer of fashion footwear. He is considered to be an Italian romantic while using German engineering methods for designing footwear. Sarto lives in Venice, Italy, but the majority of his shoes are made in Brazil. Brazil is an ideal location for Sarto because it has an abundance of resources, materials, and quality craftsmanship that can be seen in countries such as Spain and Italy, but at reasonable prices.
History of Franco Sarto Shoes
Franco Sarto was born just outside Venice, Italy in 1949. He worked part time in a shoe factory as a teenager and learned the intricacies of the business over time. In his early twenties,
he moved to Stra, Italy and set up a partnership with another designer. They called their studio, Sarto and Candian and sold to worldwide retailers and wholesalers. They also designed collections for many companies and exhibited collections at major European fashion and footwear shows.
Sarto was hired by Caressa, Inc. in his 30s to work on SRO shoes. He eventually left Caressa to form a new company in Brazil called Nickels. Nickels was a huge success and soon moved to Italy to emerge into the fashion footwear industry. In 1994, Sarto left the company to create a brand with his name on the collection. The brand was acquired by different companies over time until it finally resided with Bennett Footwear Group and Danelle from Pentland USA.
Franco Sarto shoes continue to be made in Brazil with Italian designs and materials provided by Sarto. Sarto still lives in Stra with his wife and two children. While Sarto continues to make new designs in footwear fashion, he offers guidance to his son Massimo, who is now trying to design his own contemporary styles of shoes.
